Fem Un Museu – Sílvia López

Since 2013, I actively collaborate with Fem un Museu. This project is a cultural initiative that has as main objective to bring the art world to groups of people with social risk and psychic limitations through the direct involvement of local artists, showing that art does not understand disabilities.

In 2017, I had the honor and privilege of being the artistic dynamist of the project (thanks to Helena Minuesa, responsible for the cultural pedagogical service of the Museums of Sant Cugat).

My proposal is born from the emotions that awaken in me this project that, year after year, has marked me and changed the way I see the life and the way of working my work. That is why my objective has been to carry out an artistic work from deepening the relationship between the participants, their emotions and their dreams … enjoy the creative process in a more affective and emotional way from beginning to end because the Process we have been ourselves …

We have taken advantage of the unique environment that the Monastery of Sant Cugat offers us to share time and conversations and to naturally give birth to complicity. We have recovered objects belonging to the daily life of people, but for some reason have been rejected, to create from them our works. We establish a parallelism between people and these objects: all of us, like objects out of use, need opportunities to show that we are full of life, full of experiences and that we have much to contribute to the whole of society …
